A Marilyn Monroe ramble.

Tue Mar 11, 2008, 1:40 AM
So today I got to wondering, because that's what I seem to do, and so wondering I did. Today, I was wondering about Marilyn Monroe, specifically about who she was. Now, what all caused this wondering was the fact that not all too long ago her smallish white grand piano was bought for 600k plus comission at an auction by Mariah Carey.
When people talk about Marilyn Monroe, people who were alive then, they seem to get all dreamy eyed, almost like having a day dream. Marilyn always seemed to give this radiance for people, they talk about how beautiful she was, how amazing. So on. And I did some reading, I did some piecing and really, I think Marilyn Monroe may have been the last 'real' celebrity. She had a troubled homelife, she never 'had it all' when she was young. Really, she had nothing but a dream, a voice, and the ability to reach for the stars.
I mean, how often do you see female celebrities letting their outfits bust open 'by accident' and then denying nude pictures, jeeze. Yes there are Monroe nudes, and she was proud of them too. Do you know how glamorous she was? She was proud of herself, and didn't eat like a rabbit either. She didn't have to be anorexic to be beautiful, hell, she had smaller busts than most hollywood girls do BEFORE the boob job.

Really. What happened? Why the change? I mean, how did good old Norma's values end up in the trash can. There's no.. no class anymore. No glamore. Just plan sluts and tramps. Nothing to look up to, only women who are idolized for their fake-ness. It's sad.

It's too much effort these days for people to try and make something of themselves, so they get other people to make them instead.

It's all because of people like Paris Hilton...because of one stupid tape, and being the "star" of a reality tv show, any idiot can become a "celebrity". Same goes for all these other half-wits that have a non-reality show and suddenly think they can make music. c_C;

Yeah, I've been wondering the same as you for a while.

I dunno, there are still great celebs who are glamorous and talented for their own sake, you just have to look past the sluthos to see them.
